๐ Story Overview (Disney Version)
The Disney version is based on the Grimm fairy tale but made lighter and more family-friendly.
Snow White is a kind and gentle princess forced to work as a servant by her jealous stepmother, the Evil Queen. The Queen constantly asks her Magic Mirror who the fairest of them all is. When the mirror says Snow White is the fairest, the Queen orders a huntsman to kill her.
The huntsman cannot do it and tells Snow White to run away.
She finds a cottage in the forest belonging to seven dwarfs:
-
Doc
-
Grumpy
-
Happy
-
Sleepy
-
Bashful
-
Sneezy
-
Dopey
Unlike the Grimm version, the dwarfs in Disney’s film each have distinct personalities and names, adding humor and warmth.
Snow White lives happily with them until the Queen, disguised as an old hag, tricks her into biting a poisoned apple. She falls into a deep sleep that can only be broken by true love’s kiss.
A Prince, who had met Snow White earlier, kisses her and breaks the spell. They leave together to live happily ever after.
The Queen falls from a cliff during a storm while trying to escape.
